FatHeRs RoLe....

"Every Father should remember that one day his son will follow his example, instead of his advice".

"A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty".

One night a father overheard his son pray: Dear God, make me the kind of man my daddy is. Later that night, the father prayed, Dear God, make me the kind of man my son wants me to be.

To me this is a role of a father!!...I think about my dad and I also think of the father of my kids, my hubby Pulu. These quotes depict my dad and husband. The last quote especially reminds me of my dad. My dad is always striving to be better than he was yesterday. He wants my brothers to look up to him, and be proud of him. And my brothers strive to be like my dad on a daily basis. Pulu is quote #2 all the way. Pulu could be thee poorest person in the whole wide world and his children would think him the richest fella on the block! They love him so much, and they are so happy to be around him wherever he is. I love that he has a great relationship with our children.

The first quote is for all fathers, and something that all of them need to remember!! It's so important to watch what you say, and do because your sons are watching you, and your daughters...but it's so imp for the men to be great examples to their sons, cause then you know that their choices will be good ones. Because the expectations their father set forth for them. I really believe in that. I constantly remind Pulu that Jay will never remember what he says, but he will remember EVERYTHING he does, and doesn't do and he will follow!! I think he's doing the best he can, and I'm happy with what he's teaching Jay, and the example he's showing to our son so that he can follow in truth and righteousness. It's a hard task to always be on your best behavior, but it's something I see Pulu striving for everyday to set a good example to both of our kids.

One of my favorite things about Pulu is that he is always telling our children that they can do and be anything!! He is so supportive of their dreams and aspirations. He gets so excited when they do well in school, and he loves to tell everyone about how proud he is of their accomplishments. It makes me so happy to hear him and see him so in love with his children, that he would do anything for them. He never complains when he takes them places, he never calls me and asks if I could pick them up cause he's tired, or just lazy!! He genuinely loves being with them and I am grateful to have not only a good husband, but a great father for my children!!

Now my dad!!! I'm sure a lot of you know him!! He is thee best MC in the world (according to him), the best tennis player, the #1 bus driver, and in my eyes he's thee BEST DAD and GRAMPA!! My dad has always been a supporter of everything we do in life. If we make mistakes, he's there to catch us, bring us in comfort us, and kick us in our butts to keep going!! He is such a humble man when it comes to his children. There isn't anything or anyone that can change my dads mind about his kids. He loves us soo much, and we can tell. He is so funny, and such a teaser...I love my dad!! He loves to dance, and sing, and when I was living in Cali, I would listen to tongan music and cry when I heard a song that my dad would sing often or one we would dance to. He has always been my protector, comforter, strength builder, and security even tho most of us siblings are all married, he's always been this for US! And talk about GRAMPA of the YEAR!! My dad takes all 12 or so grandkids with him to tennis practice and he loves it!! He will always come up with lil things he can do with them, like McDonalds on Saturday mornings, or birthday parties, eating, baptisms, anything having to do with them, he won't miss it!! He is just the greatest supporter I know!! I LOVE YOU DAD!!

I hope all you Fathers out there have a wonderful Fathers Day, and I hope we can all show our appreciation to the Fathers in our lives!! I am truly grateful for mines!! :)
